In agricultural cultivation, fertilizer plays a particularly important role. Each type of fertilizer has its own ingredients and uses for plants. However, if fertilizer is used incorrectly, it can indirectly harm the environment and human health. The same goes for the northern division.. So What is the northern division? Instructions for using fenugreek properly to avoid causing diseases. Let’s Duc Binh microbial products find out below!
1. What is the northern division?
Bac manure is a type of fertilizer derived from human waste that has not been completely decomposed (ie fresh human feces). Manure is derived from the waste of farmed animals is the same as manure all belongs to the group of organic fertilizers. This is a traditional fertilizer that has been used by farmers for a long time to fertilize crops, rice and vegetables.

2. Origin and origin of the name Northern division
Instead of being called human feces, the name northern feces was born in association with a historical event. Accordingly, in 1950, the Cooperative in Northern Vietnam opened a campaign to collect human excrement. If each family does not collect 10 kilos, they will be fined or have their wages cut.
Through this campaign, it also helps popularize the two-compartment latrine model and human excrement becomes a source of fertilizer in agricultural cultivation. This helps increase productivity and improve the economy households.
The name Bac Ninh comes from a special campaign
3. Characteristics – advantages and limitations of northern division
What is northern division, what are the advantages and disadvantages? As mentioned above, each type of fertilizer will have certain benefits but also its own limitations:
3.1. Advantages and benefits from the Northern Division
Panh Bac is a readily available source of organic fertilizer that brings many benefits to farmers when used as follows:
- Rich in essential nutrients
Northern manure contains up to 19% organic matter, 1.6% Nitrogen, 1.2% Phosphorus, 0.5% Potassium and many other nutrients. Thus, northern fertilizer provides all the essential minerals and nutrients for plants, including both medium and trace elements that exist in two forms, easily soluble and slowly soluble.
With soluble minerals, it helps plants quickly absorb and strengthen the immune system, the initial development mechanism. As for minerals that slowly decompose in the soil, it will ensure adequate supply of nutrients during the plant’s growing period.
The ingredients of northern manure are rich in nutrients and minerals
- Enhances the growth of useful microorganisms
What is the role of manure? When applied to the ground, microorganisms in the soil will decompose organic matter and release it into humus. At that time, humus was the main food source for microorganisms to grow, especially useful microorganisms. When they grow strongly, they will quickly inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. Thanks to that, plants are always protected from other pests and diseases.
- Stimulates plant root growth
Humus created from the decomposition of organic matter in manure also has the effect of stimulating the growth of underground plant roots. As plant roots grow, the ability to absorb nutrients better so plants and vegetables will grow quickly and have good resistance, giving high yields.
Manure helps microorganisms grow and decompose organic matter into humus
- Improving soil and preventing erosion
If you do not want the soil structure to be destroyed due to overuse of chemical fertilizers, using manure and other organic fertilizers is a long-term solution. Besides, this available source of nutrients also helps improve soil, especially in poor and dry soils. At the same time, applying fertilizer to plants is also a therapy to prevent erosion and enhance effective water retention.
- Increase agricultural productivity
Using manure and organic fertilizers properly brings people many great benefits. Thanks to adequate nutrition and minerals, plants will grow quickly and the ecosystem will be balanced. Therefore, the soil becomes more fertile and fertile. This is the main reason why plants have high yield and quality in terms of size, color and taste
- Reduce production costs
In fact, using available fertilizer sources is always cheaper than buying chemical or industrial fertilizers. On the other hand, the treatment of agricultural waste when using organic fertilizer is also lower. This will help farmers save and reduce agricultural production costs.

3.2. Limitations when using northern fertilizer
Although it brings many benefits, northern fertilizer also has many disadvantages and limitations. Especially when they are not used properly by people: they contain many potential pathogens and spread into the environment, affecting human health. Because fresh manure often contains harmful bacteria such as E.coli, parasites, viruses, helminth eggs and other types.
4. How to compost manure – Instructions for using manure properly
To be able to make good use of the advantages that northern fertilizers bring at the same time maximize the disadvantages of this line of fertilizers, the best way is should be composted before fertilizing into the environment. How to compost how we give detailed instructions as follows:
4.1 About incubation:
- Step 1: Prepare to dig a compost hole, sized appropriately for the amount of compost to be composted.
- Step 2: Pour manure into the compost pit. Sprinkle Emzeo microbiological product – 200gr on the surface to compost and deodorize (1 package of 200gr composts 150 – 200kg of northern manure). This product, in addition to its deodorizing effect, also helps supplement beneficial microorganisms and increase activity to quickly decompose proteins and organic substances.
- Step 3: Use a shovel to scoop soil to cover the compost in the hole, while helping to retain moisture, reduce odors and wipe away flies, ensuring hygiene.
- Step 4: During the composting period, check every 7 – 10 days and turn the compost once. If there is a bad smell, continue to sprinkle or mix Emzeo microbial compost powder with water to water it.
- Step 5: After 20 – 30 days of incubation, the fresh manure has turned from yellow to gray like mud. This is when the fertilizer has reached enough standards to be applied to fields and gardens for crops.

4.2 About usage
After composting, manure can be used like other organic fertilizers. Usage is as follows:
- For fruits and vegetables: We only use 10 to 15kg of fertilizer/acre as fertilizer. Farmers can use it to partially or completely replace inorganic fertilizer
- For perennial trees and fruit trees: Fertilize according to the tree canopy projection, lightly loosen the roots and then apply 1 to 2kg of fertilizer/root
- For rice plants: Apply 10kg/acre of fertilizer to reduce the amount of urea and phosphate fertilizers. The most appropriate way to use when fertilizing rice is to mix it into the seedlings before transplanting.
- For potted ornamental plants: Use 1kg of manure mixed with 2 to 3kg of powdered soil to fertilize 10 potted ornamental plants.
Note, we absolutely do not use fresh manure to fertilize plants. For short-term vegetables and fruits, experts also recommend that farmers should not use fertilizer to ensure safety for agricultural product users.

5. Should or should not use northern division
This is a question asked by many people. The use of northern fertilizer for plants is undeniable, but what makes many people worry: Is it hygienic, does it affect the health of people who use agricultural products?
According to experts, manure helps improve soil quality, has the ability to effectively prevent soil leaching, and provides an important source of nutrients for plants to grow. However, its benefits will vary depending on the soil and climate conditions in each region, depending on the type of plant and how people use it.
Therefore, you should not use fertilizer when growing vegetables and fruits. The reason is because this type of stool contains pathogens related to intestinal parasites and a number of other diseases. Instead, we should use microbial fertilizers and organic fertilizers instead.
On the market today there are many different types of fertilizers with abundant nutritional content and have been tested for health safety, so people can rest assured. As for industrial crops and long-term crops, people can use northern fertilizer to fertilize.
The above is information to help you clearly understand what is, its benefits and instructions for using it properly to avoid causing diseases. In general, manure is a useful source of fertilizer for soil and plants, contributing to increased productivity and income for farmers. Therefore, use fertilizer properly to ensure the highest efficiency and minimize harmful impacts on the environment. Wishing everyone a good harvest.
